Traditional recognition is just a dream to all graduating classes of Batch 2020. All the parents, relatives, and friends of the graduates may only sigh with grief due to the snatched glorious moments suppose to be celebrated after so many years of hard work of schooling. But if you are a graduate that happened to attend virtual graduation, it was such a great blessing from up above knowingly that you are alive at that moment until today.
Our son Mike Terence (MT) was among the graduates of class 2020 at the time of COVID-19 pandemic. Way back early March, we talked about his incoming graduation how will we celebrate it. Those ideas always linger in our thoughts and remain there forever. As a parent and a mother, I am very excited for my son to accompany him on stage to receive his first academic diploma, but it won't happen anymore. Lately, in August, his class adviser requested us to come over to the school on schedule to receive his diploma, good moral certificate, report card, honor certificate, and medals. So at home (aside from the virtual graduation initiated by the school), we did a simple thanksgiving and recognition to our son.
Congratulations, MT!

My son Mike Terence was one of the successful applicants to take the test in Central Visayas. The following photos were taken at the Southwestern University. The scheduled time 8:00 am to start the exam was really followed. Actually, he's 5 minutes late from the scheduled time and no longer allowed to enter the assigned room. All late comers were in the Buffer Room to take the test. Before 12:00 noon, few student applicants finished the test. Few minutes after, my son came out and talked to me his unforgettable experience about taking the test.

Boy Scouts of The Philippines under the current Chief Scout President Rodrigo Duterte is always there in public and private schools to prepare our children to become agents of change in communities. On month of August, the BSP District Encampment was held at Gun-ob Elementary School. The school campers were from Basak Elementary School, Gun-ob Elementary School, Suba-Masulog Elementary School, Sudtunggan Elementary School, and Marigondon Elementary School. Under the supervision of the over-all coordinator Mr. Leonardo E. Mar and other BSP District coordinators, the event was successfully done last 24th and 25th of the month. Mr. Junelo Marata, Mrs. Bella Cabras, Mrs. Ruthanie Delos Reyes, and other Marigondon Elementary School teachers headed by the school principal Mrs. Rebecca P. Toring were the all-out scout leaders and supporters to the scouters.
As a Grade 5 pupil of MES, Mike Terence was one of the boy scouts who participated the encampment. Even though he had head avulsion from the accident happened on the onset of BSP & GSP Backyard Encampment last August 17-18, 2018, he still joined the District level Encampment with the surgeon's approval. The encampment was really a memoir to all pupil campers. They experienced strategy games, socializing with other campers from other schools, and witnessed the campfire, night's most highlighted activity of Boy Scouting. The pupil campers experienced to sleep on their own away from parents, assembled camping tents inside the school area, and cooked their own food. Boy Scouting to him and all other campers were really fun, educating, and thrilling school activity. Since they had numerous games, the activity was ended with a Recognition of Scouters by school who had the most number of wins. The Boys Scouts from Marigondon Elementary School won as the Champion of the BSP District Encampment. They received prize of school supplies and others from the event organizer.
Night before the Opening of Marigondon Elementary Intramurals 2017, he told us to buy chess board. I thought he was kidding but he's not. I forgot he was the DaMath contestant last year under coaching of Mrs. Shela Duavis, Grade 3 Fast Learner adviser. So this year, he's no longer a DaMath player but an upgraded one the Chess Player contestant representing the Grade 4 entire section.Wow! Without hesitatation, we dropped by at the National Bookstore after dining at Jonies Restaurant inside the SM Hypermarket LapuLapu. There, we bought a Plastic Chess Board for her Ate in replacement of her previous board and Wooden Chess Board for him at Gaisano GrandMall. He's following the footsteps of his older sister, Ayla. After a series of matches, he won the Second place of Boy's Category and Ayla won Second place also for the Girl's Category and they both representing as the official Chess Players for the incoming Unit Meet this September to be held at Marigondon Elementary School. Well done thinkers!😉
