Mike Terence and Justin represented as the Boy Chess Players of Marigondon Elementary School under coach Ms. Regine Bugnot for the UNIT MEET 2019 Chess Tournament. They were chosen as winners of the previous Chess Tournament held at the school during their Intramurals 2019 (School Level). There were two girls also who represented as players for the Girls Chess Tournament under the other coach. The UNIT MEET 2019 is composed of two districts, District 5 and District 6, with each has number of schools being covered. There were many outdoor competitions/sports covered by the UNIT MEET, Chess is one of them. Accordingly, there were 14 Chess Players for the tournament and 5 Elimination Rounds done. After that series of eliminations, Mike Terence of Marigondon Elementary School garnered the 3rd Place while Justin got the 4th Place. The girls chess players of the MES also got the 4th place. Congratulations kids!
